Last week I was invited to cover the Waste South Australia conference by the team at WMAA. I’ve worked with the team at a several events in the past and nothing re-affirms that I must be doing something right more than having a long lasting relationship with a client.
The event in Glenelg in Adelaide saw professionals from both the Waste Management industry and Government from around Australia (and the world) come together to discuss the actions they have taken and plan the next steps in the journey towards a more sustainable future where the environmental impact of rubbish and in particular of sending waste to landfill is minimised.
One of the highlights of the three days was hearing Mark Conlon, the CEO of Waste Aid Australia, talk about their success working with Aboriginal communities in NSW. It was great to see how simple solutions could, if introduced correctly, solve really complex and long standing problems.
